Acacia Creations African Recycled Jewelry

Acacia Creations specializes in jewelry made from beads handrolled from recycled magazine paper by women in Uganda. The beads are sealed with water-proof laquer and brought to a workshop in Kenya where each is made into a unique piece of jewelry. The families get income from these projects and the paper is kept out of landfills and garbage pits. Each item is crafted under FAIR TRADE conditions. All sales directly benefit the workers and their communities.

The newest initiatives of Acacia are the Jacaranda workshop, that hires mentally and physically disabled workers in Kenya and trains them to make and glaze beautiful ceramic beads, and the "Barefoot Trade Bead" bracelets that help support the education of workers and their children.
