Nusantara

Inspired by the landscapes, art, and experience of overseas culture, Steve Mustukas founded Nusantara in 1980, after hitchhiking around the world and discovering his passion for textiles, artifacts, and all things handmade and unique. Steve's mission is to find unique, one-of-a-kind goods produced in ways that help rather than exploit artisans in less developed countries. He believes in sharing the beauty of the east with those in the west. Currently, Steve visits Indonesia, China, Laos, Thailand, India, and Nepal four times a year to continue his quest for the exotic and unusual. We love Steve, Meg, Kim, and all the people at Nusantara and are so happy to be carrying their beautiful items here.
