Vida Dulce for Pueblo a Pueblo - Improving Lives in the Guatemalan Highlands

Do you like to feel you are "doing good while looking good"? Then the gorgeous items from Vida Dulce are just what you are looking for. Vida Dulce was founded by Kristin van Zandt, a nurse who was working in the Guatemalan Highlands. The company partners with Pueblo a Pueblo, a nonprofit organization that was formed to address the difficult living situations in Santiagio Atitlan and other highland villages.

In 2009, nearly one third of the families there lived in plastic tent shelters without clean water, proper nutrition, adequate healthcare or educational opportunities for their children. Pueblo a Pueblo is helping to build sustainable, viable and healthy indigenous communities in Guatemala. The items sold by Vida Dulce include purses made from traditional Mayan Huipiles (shirts) as well as beautiful beaded jewelry, allowing the Mayan people to use their native crafts to create businesses that better their lives and that of their villages.

We are now carrying the Guatemalan macrame necklaces and bracelets. Please look for Vida Dulce in the jewelry section.
