Yoga Niyama Sanskrit Washi Paper & Sterling Silver Necklace - Santosha

This beautiful necklace features a double sided printed Japanese washi paper design set under glass in a small round sterling silver frame. It is sealed, and is waterproof. One side is imprinted with the Sanskrit script for Santosha, and the other the transliteration. Santosha is one of the 5 "niyamas" or "observances" of the yoga sage Patanjali. Santosha is loosely defined as "contentment", but it is also representative of appreciation for what you have, not continually desiring what you do not have (that includes not comparing yourself to others in yoga class, and not wanting more than you need in life). You can wear this piece as a promise to yourself that you will keep this behavior present in your thoughts throughout the day, and not just on the mat or during meditation.
